our story
Since 2008, Scivera has worked with leading consumer product brands to fundamentally advance chemicals management and sustainable chemistry.
Our work as a proven and trusted partner to global brands and suppliers has created a proprietary platform that radically simplifies and accelerates the ability to start a chemicals management program for companies regardless of their size. We are answering the call as fast and cost-effective access to better chemicals information is simply the price of doing business in a world where consumers control the narrative.
Our mission is to solve for the most significant problems brands face—obtaining chemical information without the ability to assess, understand, or manage those chemicals. Through SciveraLENS Rapid Screen, Enterprise, and our services, we enable everyone to own and participate in the mission we all share: to create better products via better chemicals.
our leadership team
Joseph Rinkevich
Founder & President
Joe launched Scivera in 2008 with the idea that retailers, brands, and their suppliers need better knowledge about chemicals in their products and processes. For too long, basic regulatory compliance has been insuffucient to protect workers, consumers, and the environment. With more complete chemical knowledge, product development teams, sourcing professionals, and merchants can drive better and safer products for a more sustainable society. Scivera is now a leader in this movement. Early in his career, Joe worked in the first days of sustainability and environmental strategy consulting, helping senior managers in global brands explore the developing market expectations for sustainability and circular economy. Today, based on that early idea, Scivera delivers unprecedented access to toxicology and sustainability insight for many of the world's most recognized brands, as well as many new ventures---supporting their diverse supplier networks. Joe holds a BSc in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Masters Degree in Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia. Joe speaks regularly at conferences and to companies and industry organizations on the topic of making better chemical knowledge accessible and scalable. Joe and his family live in Charlottesville, Virginia USA.
