Joseph P. Rinkevich - Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer
Joe leads product development, customer relationships and general management efforts for SciVera drawing on over 20 years of professional experience in industry. Throughout his career, Joe has led successful startups and consulted to senior executives on how their business can generate lasting value by integrating environmental and sustainability strategy in all aspects of the enterprise. Without exception, this work has uncovered the need to empower professionals across many organizational functions with the reliable, cost-effective resources to make proactive decisions about product improvement, supplier relationships and product life cycle development. In addition to having worked with a range of corporations like Dell, Nike, Walmart, General Motors and DuPont, Joe also supports government and intergovernmental efforts on environment and sustainability as well as speaking and teaching at several universities and annual conferences.

Education: Master of Urban & Environmental Planning, University of Virginia; BSc. Business Administration, Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.


Thomas G. Osimitz, Ph.D., D.A.B.T. - Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer
Tom leads the research and development agenda as well as ensuring chemical data integrity for SciVera. Tom is a board-certified toxicologist with over 25 years of experience in safety assessment. Previously Vice-President for Global Safety Assessment and Regulatory Affairs for S.C. Johnson and Son, he led corporate global safety assessment efforts for a wide range of consumer, OTC, and institutional products. This included the development of processes for hazard and exposure assessment, as well as risk characterization. Recent efforts in the sustainability realm include work at several levels of the supply chain. These range from engagement with small innovative companies on development of disruptive technologies (designed to be benign) to the creation and implementation of a comprehensive strategies for the assessment of chemicals in products for global corporations like General Motors and Walmart.

Education: B.S. in Biology from The University of Minnesota and Ph.D. in Toxicology from The University of Michigan. Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (D.A.B.T.)


Patricia Beattie, Ph.D., D.A.B.T. - Vice President, Business Development
Pat leads business development efforts for SciVera with a strong focus on expanding the use of SciVera Lens within the automotive industry. With over 25 years of work as an executive at General Motors and her extensive international experience in applied toxicology, risk assessment and chemical regulatory support, Pat brings a broad set of skills to growing SciVera's reach across a number of sectors. Most recently as the Director, Chemical Risk Management, Environmental Services for General Motors, Pat has long been at the forefront of addressing the challenges and opportunities of business strategy as it relates to chemical policy at the corporate and government level, as well as regularly interacting with industry groups and non-governmental organizations.

Education: BS in Chemistry from The University of Arizona; MS and Ph.D. in Toxicology from The University of Michigan; Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (D.A.B.T.).

 

Wiebke Droege , Ph.D. - Director of Research
Wiebke leads chemical research efforts for SciVera bringing extensive training in pharmacology and toxicology to the team. Wiebke's experience ranges from review and analysis of toxicology research papers and studies to the application of clinical toxicology in poison control centers. Her current efforts in safety assessment include developing and implementing toxicological data collection and the hazard and risk assessment of chemicals. She has experience in the assessment of exposure of adults and children to chemicals in the indoor environment, both through monitoring studies and mathematical modeling approaches. Other areas of experience include the preparation of toxicology and safety dossiers to complement regulatory data for product launches.

Education: B.S. degree in pharmacy from the University of Münster, Germany, and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Tübingen, Germany.
